    NWEA Data Driven Skills and Concepts to Develop:

    ·      Identifies the setting, main character, character’s feelings and conflict of a literary event.

    ·      Paraphrases sequence of events in literary text

    Common Core Standards:

    ·      Create engaging audio recordings of stories or poems that demonstrate fluid reading at an understandable pace; add visual displays when appropriate to emphasize or enhance certain facts or details.

    Task: Students will read and listen to a story from Storylineonline.com and identify story elements.  They will use a graphic organizer to write a summary of the story including the story elements. Students will write an introduction and a conclusion around their summary to create a script for a podcast.  Finally students will use their script to record their podcast paying attention to fluency, accuracy, and expression.
