School Uniform Policy

  • The purpose of the School Uniform Policy is to provide additional opportunities for increased school safety, to encourage our students to experience a greater sense of school identity and belonging, to encourage an improvement in student behavior, to reduce school clothing costs, to encourage a high level of program participation and to improve and expand academic excellence.

    Parents at John Williams School #5 made a school based decision to adhere to a school uniform policy. Students are required to wear:
     
    For grades K through 6:
     
          Shirts - Collared shirts - Navy blue (no name brand logos)
    Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Jumpers - Navy blue or beige.  Shorts must be Bermuda or walking shorts that fall just above the knee   caps.  This applies to both boys and girls.  Skirts and jumpers must fall within four (4) inches of the knee caps.  ALL PANTS MUST BE WORN AT THE WAIST.  Underwear must be completely covered by clothing
    Navy blue sweater - For colder weather - (No hoodies.)
    Footwear - Sneakers or closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or open-toe sandals.)   
     
    For grades 7 and 8:
     
    Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Jumpers - Navy blue or beige. Shorts must be Bermuda or walking shorts that fall just above the knee caps. This applies to both boys and girls.     The dress code is enforced Monday through Friday.
