School 34 Families,
Welcome to December! Our school-wide social and emotional focus for this month is Compassion. Please support us by discussing what gratitude looks like at home. We define compassion as the feeling or an act of caring for someone who may be in need. We will spend time teaching students how to empathize and learn about compassion.
Our School-Wide Positive Behavior team has been working hard recognizing students for their positive contributions to our school environment. We have already held three Student of the Month celebrations and we are looking for more students to nominate.
Unfortunately, 126 of our students missed 5 or more days during the 1st marking period. That is 1/4 of our student population. A student who misses 5 or more days during a marking period is considered chronically absent. These absences have a direct impact on student performance and long-term outcomes. Please ensure your child is attending every day. We want to see every child succeed and we need your help.
Please remember to follow us on our school website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (RCSD34), and Class Dojo. The website can be found at www.rcsdk12.org/34. If you have any questions or thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact me. Go Tigers!
