“Where Media Arts and Communications Technology Are the Focus”

  • Provides an introductory communications curriculum that prepares students for careers in media, broadcasting, public relations, digital technology, and print.

  • Is a small high school that personalizes the curriculum to student needs, connects families with the small-school environment, and guides students to successful graduation.

  • Provides opportunities to earn college credit and participate in apprenticeships with area communications firms.

  • Offers advanced courses involving hands-on projects in the school’s on-campus radio/television studio.

  • Uses cooperative learning, in which students work in teams to solve problems, and peer mentoring to improve academic performance and character development.

  • Uses teacher advisors. Each teacher is assigned a group of 12 students to counsel and guide over a 4-5 year period to ensure progress toward graduation.

  • Plans and organizes credit-bearing community service projects for students.

  • Partners with community agencies, including Center for Youth Services, to support students in both their academic and social needs.

  • Serves grades 7-12.
