“Developing Tomorrow’s Business Owners and Leaders”
- Instructional focus is on developing entrepreneurial skills. Students in grades 7-9 are introduced to the concept of being an entrepreneur and developing the underlying mindset. Entrepreneurial focus continues across the curriculum through grade 12.
- Partners with the University of Rochester to offer enhanced educational opportunities for incoming seventh-grade students, designed to prepare students for success at the college level.
- Students completing all academic requirements and in good standing in grades 11 and 12 are eligible to take college-level courses at the University of Rochester free of charge.
- Career education program connects the schools’ entrepreneurial focus with elective courses for grades 10-12 in Pre-Engineering, Construction Trades, Computer Graphics, Food & Nutrition, Videography, Child Psychology, Woodworking, Small Engine Repair and Entrepreneurship.
- Students may earn a Certificate of Employability and participate in co-op experiences with local employers.
- International students, new to the United States, are offered the Newcomer Program which focuses on intense English language acquisition.
- A full band and choir program is offered. After-school programs include a variety of special interest clubs, tutoring programs and award-winning athletic teams.
- Student Support Center, with the Urban League as lead agency, is housed on campus. Services are available to all students.
- Uniforms required for all 7th and 8th graders: navy shirts, khaki pants/skirts.
