At Virgil I Grissom School No. 7, we believe strongly in the partnership between school and community. We encourage input from students, families, business leaders and neighborhood resources. Through our commitment to excellence beginning at pre-k and continuing through the primary and intermediate grades, our students will continue to meet high expectations academically and socially while striving to become productive responsible citizens of the world.  

• Is located in the Dewey Avenue, Bryan Street, Pierpont Street and Birr Street block of the Maplewood neighborhood.
  
  
• Offers inclusion opportunities at all grade levels for students with learning disabilities.
  
  
• Provides ESOL services for students whose first language is not English.
  
  
• Provides an after-school academic support program.
  
  
• Provides Saturday School Tutoring through a partnership with the University of Rochester.
  
  
• Houses the Pierpont Recreation Center, which provides programs after school and during vacations through the City of Rochester Recreation Department.
  
  
• Has a monthly Parent/Principal Coffee Hour.
  
  
• Has community partnerships with the Dewey/Ridgeway Fire Department, Kodak, Wegmans, Grace Community Village, Bishop Kearney and Aquinas high schools and the Boys & Girls Clubs.
  
  
• Has an active PTA which meets once a month.
