Robert Bernhardt
Principal Conductor /RPO
Since Robert Bernhardt's 1978 professional debut in Rochester he has
often made guest appearances with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
He conducted most of the concerts during the 1994-95 season. Former music
director and conductor of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra (1987-95), Bernhardt
has a lot of experience. In 1992 he was chosen as music director of the
Chattanooga Symphony and Opera association. He has worked with the Kentucky
Opera in Louisville for 14 years. He is its principal guest conductor. He
has also been associate conductor of the Louisville Orchestra.

His 1995-96 season was very successful. According to the Democrat and Chronicle,
his conducting is both warm and satisfying.
