Mitch Miller
Mitch Miller was born in 1911 on the 4th of July. In the early 1930's
he studied music at the Eastman School. He had a T.V. show called "Sing
Along with Mitch" from 1961-66. His best song was" Yellow Rose
of Texas".
In the late 1940's he began artist-and-repertory work for Keynote and
Mercury.

Mitch Miller
Mitchell William Miller was born in Rochester, New York on July 4, 1911.
He has been an oboist, a conductor and a record producer. Miller studied
at the Eastman School to become an oboist. He played with the Syracuse Symphony
Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. In the early 1930's
he lived in New York where he played for the CBS Symphony Orchestra. He
did artist-and-repertory work for Keynote and Mercury Records.
He produced recordings for very famous people, such as Doris Day, Rosemary
Clooney, Jo Stafford, Frankie Laine and Johnny Mathis.
He made popular a participation form of music called "Sing Along
with Mitch." He hosted his own show named " Sing Along with Mitch",
also. One of his hit songs was called "Yellow Rose of Texas,"
in 1955.
A few months ago, Mitch's sister died in her 90's. Her name was Fannie
Mendel. She was a retired teacher from the Rochester City School District.
