Rochester is lucky to have many Drum & Bugle Corps. The DCA Drum Corps. finals competition was held in Rochester in 1996. Drum Corps. is a demanding sport that combines music, showmanship, stamina and precision.

The Empire Statesmen

The Empire Statesmen are a Drum and Bugle Corps. They are from Rochester, New York where we live. They play instruments and march. Some of them wave flags and dance. They wear special clothes and some even wear costumes!. They march and play on football fields and make music. We saw a video of them playing at Frontier Field in Rochester. They have contests with other Drum Corps. from all over the country. They play in the summer when it is hot. They win lots of trophys. They travel and play all over the earth. They have been to Mexico, Denmark, England, Sweden, Europe and Canada.

They make us feel happy. We are proud they are from Rochester and they are so good!
