The first time he played before an audience was at CCH(Carnegie Chamber Hall) on February 10, 1908, when he was 16 years old. David's parents were very proud of him and happy for him too.

David served in the war. He died in France on October 15, 1918. Everyone was sad because he was dead and the people were going to miss him having live concerts and just seeing him happy.

David Hochstein

Born on February 16, 1892, Mr. David Hochstein soon became a well known Rochester violinist. David's parents were Jacob and Helena. He was their third child. At a very young age, David started violin lessons with Ludwig Schenck. Schenck was also the music teacher at East High which David entered in 1905.

David joined the school orchestra and became the concert master. During high school, he began to work with another violin teacher, Aloys Trnka. In 1908, David traveled to New York to play at Carnegie Chamber Music Hall.

Mr. Hochstein went to war in France and was killed on October 15, 1918.

I think this was a very tragic death because he was only 25 years old.
