Lou Gramm

Lou Gramm graduated from Gates-Chili High School. Gramm got an early start in his career.

Gramm's father, Ben Gammatico, played trumpet in big bands in the 1940's and early 1950's. His mother often sang along. Lou Gramm played for a band by the name of Black Sheep.

His musical heroes are John Lennon and Marvin Gaye. On December 8, 1980 when Lennon was shot, Gramm was just five blocks away.

Lou Gramm sang with Foreigner. Some of his famous songs are: Dirty White Boy, Hot Blooded and Juke Box Heroe. I like Lou Gramm's songs because they talk about his life.

Did You Know?

One of Lou's songs he sang with his band, Foreigner, talks about a street here in Rochester.
"Runnin' all night on Lake Avenue, it's a piece of cake if you know what to
do."
The song is "Rev On The Red Line". It's about the drag races that used to happen on Rochester's Lake Avenue when Lou was growing up here. They were dangerous and people would get arrested.
