This quilt design was inspired by
"Stitching Stars: The Story Quilts of Harriet Powers" by Mary Lyons.
Harriet Powers was an American slave, born in Georgia in 1837. She told her stories with a needle, thread and cloth. Her quilts told stories.
This design tells the story of The Elephant's Child by Rudyard Kipling.
