WolfTrap
This program:
- partners Wolf Trap Teaching Artists with pre-school educators to enhance learning through the disciplines of drama, music and movement
- utilizes the performing arts to bring new approaches to early childhood educators that enrich curriculum and increase everyone’s active participation in creative learning experiences
- weaves its activities into the classroom curriculum to enhance the social, perceptual, cognitive, physical, creative and literacy skills of each child.
- presents an especially designed “parent session” for each classroom residency that explores parent/child interactions and encourages creative learning activities at home
- provides each classroom residency with 14 artist visits of approximately 45 minutes each plus 3 planning sessions (also 45 minutes each) with the classroom teacher.
- provides Professional Development Workshops promoting early learning through the arts for teachers
- is a Regional Program of the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, Vienna, Virginia
