Carolyn Steinkirchner
Parent, School Without Walls
Carolyn is the parent of Julian Eckmair, an 11th grader at School Without Walls, and is a remarkable advocate for her son’s education and that of the entire student body.
She is the driving force in SWW’s fledgling PTSA. She proposes discussion topics that benefit not only SWW students but all students in the District and extends these discussions to the community. Carolyn’s leadership activities have included organizing a public forum on the federal No Child Left Behind Act and its impact on schools, and initiating discussions of starting a robotics team at SWW through the First Robotics Program.
Carolyn is also an active member of DACT and the regional chapter of Coalition for Common Sense in Education, in which she plays an important role organizing activities to educate the public about the impact of high-stakes standardized testing.
“She interacts positively with School Without Walls students and is a supportive role model,” said fellow parent Jeanne Erway. “We are extremely fortunate to have this talented parent at our school!” |
