Parent Advisory Council Development Process

NCLB - Written Complaint and Appeal Procedures

The Rocheser City School District is dedicated to partnering with parents in their children's education. One of the ways we do this is through out Office of Parent Engagement.

How we help parents:

  • We offer a variety of courses for parents throughout the year.
  • We share resources and information with parents.
  • We empower parents to support their children's education.

New Parent Council Will Help Keep Students First

In 2008, Superintendent of Schools Jean-Claude Brizard announced a new strategy for transforming schools. Parent Engagement is a key component of the District's plan to increase student achievement.

To ensure parent input, the Office of Parent Engagement collaborated with the community to develop a comprehensive strategy by which parents, grandparents, guardians, educators, and other interested community members will work with the Superintendent and the Board of Education in implementing the District's Parental Involvement Policy (Board Policy 1900).

As a result of several community meetings a districtwide Parent Advisory Council has been developed. We are now in the critical process of electing parents, community members, and students to serve! It is time for you to nominate individuals you believe have the courage to embark on this journey: holding everyone accountable for doing their part to ensure student success
