Elementary Schools Hold Winter Concerts, Receive Book Donations This Week

Rochester elementary schools have winter concerts and holiday donation events scheduled for this week.

Wednesday, December 19
James P.B. Duffy School No. 12

7:00 p.m.
In addition to a winter concert featuring student performances, the evening will include a donation of books to the school library by the Association for Women in Communications-Rochester. The service organization is donating 25 copies of the book Author Day for Room 3T by local author Robin Pulver to support School No. 12’s reading program.

Kodak Park School No. 41
279 W. Ridge Road
7:00 p.m.
“Winter Fantasy Concert” will feature the School No. 41 Intermediate Choir and Holiday Band. Presented by the students of music teachers Kelly Follman, Willie Ellebie, and Karl Carpenter. All are welcome to celebrate the season with School No. 41.

Thursday, December 20
Audubon School No. 33
500 Webster Avenue
10:00 a.m.
Rotary Clubs from Avon, Scottsville, and Rush-Henrietta will make a donation of books to the school’s “Principal’s Book of the Month” program for the months of January through June. The clubs donated $1,250 toward the purchase of the books and an anonymous Rotarian donated $750. 

In addition, the Rush-Henrietta Rotary Club will donate a paperback dictionary to each third grade student at School No. 33—approximately 150 students.
