Janet's Extended Class Projects
Janet's extended class has been working on the theme of hysteria throughout the reading of The Crucible. For their exhibition piece, they used the Puppet Pals app to retell the story pulling out examples of hysteria from each of the four acts in Arthur Miller's play. Unfortunately, hysterical reactions to modern events still occur with alarming frequency thanks in part to irresponsible reporting from the media. The Ebola outbreak is a prime example. When two Texas nurses were infected by a man from Liberia, the flames of fear and panic were fanned by the media, creating an atmosphere of hysteria not unlike what Miller described in The Crucible. Here is their abridged version of "The Crucible, A Play in 4 Acts of Hysteria". Enjoy!
