About Monroe

“World Class Academics”
At Monroe, we embrace language and diversity as well as academics. In addition to the traditional three “R’s”: reading, arithmetic and writing, we enrich our curricula with our three “R’s”: rigor, relevance and relationships. Students in grades 7 & 8 are required to wear uniforms.

Some of the highlights of our school include:

  • Partnerships with local colleges & universities: Monroe partners with local colleges and universities to offer enhanced learning opportunities for our students. This includes our Ready, Set, Go to College partnership with the University of Rochester.

  • Dual credit courses with Monroe Community College and Genesee Community College where students earn college credit while in high school

  • College Board Advanced Placement (AP) and SpringBoard ELA classes prepare students for college-level academic work.

  • Student Support Center that offers counseling, health, and academic services in partnership with community agencies.

  • READ 180 Reading program

  • Outstanding extracurricular activities include music, sports, drama, art, and a variety of clubs.
