Custodial Assistant
- Cleans and maintains
the interior and exterior of a school, operates equipment such as a floor
polisher, performs simple maintenance on furniture and electrical or
mechanical equipment. Collects trash, sweeps dirt, rakes leaves, and
shovels snow to keep entrances and walkways clear.
- Requires 1 year of
experience in building cleaning work.
Assistant Custodian Engineer
- Responsible for
supervision of a custodial crew on evening shift, maintains the
operation of heating plan, etc.
- Requires high school
diploma or GED, plus one (1) year of paid full-time or its part-time
equivalent experience in building housekeeping, operation and
maintenance work involving the operation of a stationary steam plant.
Custodian Engineer
-
Supervise and perform
building maintenance, heating plant operation, and housekeeping. Requires
two years building maintenance experience, plus current Class III
Stationary Engineer’s License. Competitive, provisional appointment under
Civil Service.
Clerk II with Typing (English
speaking or Bilingual in English/Spanish)
- Performs important
clerical work, including computer applications, and may handle some school
funds. Must be able to generate documents, file materials, enters
information in standard forms. Bilingual employees act as interpreters by
phone or in person.
- Requires graduation
from high school or GED plus 3 years of responsible clerical experience.
Bilingual candidates must demonstrate proficiency in speaking and writing
Spanish.
Clerk Typist (English speaking or
Bilingual in English/Spanish)
- Performs entry level
clerical work and typing in a school or district office. Bilingual
employees act as interpreters by phone or in person.
- Requires graduation
from high school or GED, prior experience in clerical work a plus.
Bilingual candidates must demonstrate proficiency in speaking and writing
Spanish.
Occupational Therapist
- Provide occupational
therapy treatment, evaluation and consultation services to students in one
or more schools. Participate on an interdisciplinary educational
team to assist students in meeting the demands of the school program.
Occupational therapists work with students in the areas of fine and visual
motor skills, sensory processing, and organization of space, time and
materials. Requires bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in
occupational therapy and valid license to practice occupational therapy in
New York State. Experience preferred.
Physical Therapist
- Provide physical
therapy treatment, evaluation and consultation services to students in
several schools. Assist students to develop independent functional
mobility and access throughout the school environment. Participate
on an interdisciplinary team. Bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral
degree in physical therapy and a valid license to practice physical
therapy in New York State is required. Experience preferred.
Bus Driver
- CDL B license
with Passenger, Air Brake, and School Bus endorsements or permit.
- Must be at least 21 years old
and have a high school diploma.
Bus Attendant-Regular
- Must be at least 19 years old
and have some experience working with children.
- Will have to complete a
physical and background check.
Substitute Positions:
Substitute Bus Driver
- Drives school bus to
safely transport students, performs daily routine maintenance check on
vehicle to and from school, or to school events.
- Requires 8 years of
schooling and 1 year experience as a driver. Must possess a CDL class B
license with Passenger endorsement. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Substitute Cleaner
- Performs cleaning
duties on floors, walls, windows, furniture, lavatories, and classrooms at
a school building.
- Requires ability to
lift tools and supplies, ability to perform cleaning tasks safely and
dependably.
Substitute Food Service Helper
-
Performs routine manual work in
the preparation and serving of food in a cafeteria or other dining area.
Also responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils and
non-disposable eating utensils.

Requires working knowledge of
the proper methods of preparing and serving food; proper care and safe
operation of kitchen equipment and appliances, ability to follow proper
sanitary principles; ability to receive and make correct change.
Substitute School Sentry
- Maintains order and
protects the well-being of students, faculty and support staff during
regular school hours.
- Requires: Graduation
from high school or GED, plus one year experience as a security guard.
Must have current NYS Security guard license, and requires NYS Department
of Education fingerprinting.
