Workforce Diversity & Recruitment Report

Rochester’s schools strive to provide a safe and productive learning environment that will help students become successful, responsible citizens. Our goal is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate fully in their education without disruption.

The District’s Code of Conduct is written to promote a positive learning environment for all students. It spells out expectations for the responsible behavior of all partners in the school community: students, teachers, administrators and other staff, parents/guardians, and visitors to schools.

School Emergency Plans

In addition, each school has a plan for responding to emergency situations that may occur during the school day. These include situations such as medical emergencies, weather-related emergencies, utilities failures (electricity, gas, water), and situations involving school safety and security.

The plans enable schools to be prepared in the event of an emergency and to protect the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. Plans are reviewed regularly by school staff and are updated in accordance with directives from District safety officials working in conjunction with state and federal agencies.
