Frank Fowler Dow School No. 52 is one of the City School District’s smallest schools, located south of Empire Blvd. on the Irondequoit border. Built in 1925, the school has a beautiful cathedral-styled design and a recently expanded playground. We have two classrooms at each grade level and celebrate our small size by working together as a close-knit school community.
- Is a New York State “School in Good Standing” and has a reputation for solid academic performance.
- Uses the “America’s Choice” comprehensive reform model and emphasizes literacy through Readers’ and Writers’ Workshops.
- Has two mobile laptop computer stations that students work with in the classroom.
- Offers a before-school tutoring session for students needing extra learning support.
- Enjoys an active community partnership with Temple B’rith Kodesh, which provides volunteer assistance in classrooms and helps run a summer reading program.
- Has an enthusiastic PTA which sponsors a variety of activities for families.
