The Rochester City School District’s Parent Partnership Council welcomes the involvement of parents from throughout the District.
The Parent Partnership Council was formed in response to requirements of federal Title I Legislation and the Rochester Board of Education’s Parent Involvement Policy. In summer 2005, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Manuel J. Rivera commissioned a group of parents to establish the Council to provide parents with involvement opportunities as leaders at the district level. The organization was formally approved by the Board of Education on November 17, 2005.
The purpose of the Parent Partnership Council is to:
- Encourage significant, constructive parent involvement at the district level to help improve the education of all Rochester children.
- Actively recruit parents and encourage their participation in the educational system at all levels.
- Provide a parent perspective to the Superintendent and Board of Education on issues affecting students.
