Hispanic Services

The office of Hispanic Services serves our Parents, Guardians and Families with the following:

Customer Services

• Assist parents with placement, transportation, Committee of Special Education, Impartial Hearing, parent/ teacher conferences, suspensions hearing, academics referral, behavioral referral, health referral

Home School Relations

• Visit parents, visit classrooms, and make academic referrals as needed

Community Based Organizations

• Assist parents with referrals, and agencies visits

Human Services Agencies

• Assist parents with referrals, and agencies visits

Bilingual Programs

• Assist parents with information on ongoing programs for Hispanic Students

Special Education

• Assist parents with advocacy with Committee of Special Education (CSE) and Impartial Hearing

Informational Parents Workshops

• Provide parents with information about Educational policies, Academics, Health, Nutrition and topics of interest

The department has two Home School Assistants who speak English and Spanish. They have worked in the Rochester City School District for over 20 years and they are strong advocates for Education.
