Summer Reading Incentive Program
The goals of the Rochester City School District's Summer Reading Incentive Program are:

To encourage students to read for pleasure over the summer and to cultivate a love of reading.

To prevent students from falling back on their reading skills and learning growth over the summer.

To give students an opportunity to earn extra credit in their English class in September for every book they read in the summer.
Requirements:

Read one or more books and complete an incentive activity and a cover form for each book read. Reading Lists can be found here or by clicking the Summer Reading Lists link at the left.

Turn in the completed activity and form for each book read to your English teacher in September. The available activities can be found here or by clicking the Summer Reading Activities link at the left.

Access book lists, summer reading information and activity forms here.

Encourage your child to participate.

Use the local public libraries. They will be expecting your visit!

Go to your local bookstore and purchase a book.

Read along with your child.

Borrow or purchase an audio copy of the book (if available) and enjoy as a family.
